Young Jason Voorhees

Our friend and collaborator, Max Michaels, pitched us an idea for a short that would square a bit of a controversial (within the FT13 community, at least) change in direction from the first Friday The 13th film and its sequels: Was Jason dead and resurrected mysteriously after his mother's death in 1979? Or was Jason alive and living in hiding all those years after his alleged drowning.

The proposed short film would suggest that Jason did, in fact, die as a child. Grief-stricken, Pamela Voorhees would commit her first murders in a desperate effort to resurrect Jason through witchcraft.

A lot of FX shots have already been completed, but we've struggled to find an actress capable of portraying Pamela Voorhees which has delayed production. With a feature and slate of music videos on the horizon, who knows if/when we'll cycle back around to this short.

That said, here's a water-damaged young Jason resting at the bottom of Crystal Lake...

The model itself is a pretty basic T-pose of a boy with some minor mesh deforming on the face to mimic Jason's birth-defects. The main challenge was getting an interesting texture that would convey years of rot and water damage.
