In the pre-pandemic world of 2019, some friends shot a short film about two football fans who navigate fame and friendship when one of their reaction videos goes viral. It was a pet project among some of us on the production side of the agency we worked for at the time. That studio began to buckle and a few months later we were all locked down leaving this project in limbo.
In 2021 we dove back into the footage and wrestled this thing into shape. It's set to make its world premiere at the LOL Film Festival on August 15th, 2021.
It's not a Chance In Hell Production. Brenton Crozier makes his writing and directing debut after years of writing very polite copy for big brands by turning 180 degrees into blue humor. Brian Jerin (Fat Screaming Baby) produces. Apart from the edit and some very minor composite work, I suggested the two leads. Having worked with Eric Dooley several times, I knew he'd be an asset and having reconnected with an old high school buddy, Ernie Perez had been doing comedy on IG. It was gratifying to see these two cut it up on screen together.
And with that, the backlog of pre-pandemic unfinished short films is clear. Onward and upward!
