Working on pre-production for Scream, Queen for a year only to part ways just before production left a lot of ideas suspended in the ether. Perhaps one day Warner Bros./New Line will beat down our door to do a proper NOES film, but for now we're limited to overly-ambitious short films that languish in post-production in between projects.
Our premise was simple: Pretend it's 1988, a couple of Springwood teenagers are dealing with the deaths of several classmates and the rumors swirling about a dream killer. In a desperate effort to stay awake, the couple load up on caffeine and sugar then take to the local fair to ride coasters.
Something about Freddy turning a simple mini-coaster into a nightmarish death trap seemed so appropriate for that Dream Master era of the series.
100% of the short was done in front of a green screen and ALL the assets have to be generated from scratch, so post-production has been a challenge, but here are a few completed shots...
Unfortunately, 60% of the shots remaining still look like this...
